EDAWN to recognize companies who support the arts

Nominations are now open for the Economic Development Authority of Northern Nevada's (EDAWN) Arts & Business Awards. In partnership with the City of Reno, City of Sparks and Sierra Arts Foundation, EDAWN will present awards to local businesses and individuals who have shown outstanding support and engagement with the local arts and culture community. The purpose of the EDAWN Arts & Business Luncheon and Awards is to encourage businesses to become more actively involved with arts and culture in the Greater Reno-Sparks region. EDAWN recognizes the importance of having a thriving arts and culture community in order to attract and retain quality companies as well as a qualified workforce. The community is encouraged to nominate a deserving company or individual in various award categories. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges representing both the business and the arts communities of the City of Reno and City of Sparks. "The Business & Arts Awards is an opportunity for the community to show their appreciation for arts, the businesses who support them as well as the significant economic impact they make to our region," comments Mike Kazmierski, President and CEO of EDAWN. There are five award categories including Business of the Year Award (micro-enterprise to large), Leadership Award, Advocate Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Excellence in Arts Business Management. Category descriptions, nomination criteria, and the nomination forms can be found on the EDAWN website here. Nominations will be accepted through July 31, 2017.
