Local builder Ryder Homes has purchased 62 acres of Lompa Ranchin Carson City to build a master planned community. The building of 189 single family homes and 350 apartment units will commence in the first quarter of 2018.
"Ryder Homes is excited to be a part of this new master planned community in Carson City. With convenient highway access to the Reno, Lake Tahoe, Minden, and TRIC (Tahoe Reno Industrial Center), this community will be ideal for new residents," Steve Thomsen, general manager of Ryder Homes, said in a press release.
Carson City is one of the fastest growing cities in Nevada, with many new companies bringing jobs and opportunities to the area. The development area is near Interstate 580, which connects Carson City to the famed Tahoe Reno Industrial Center that houses companies such as Tesla, PetSmart, Zulily and many others.
