The Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Camp Bow Wow Reno South on April 2, celebrating the business’ first day of operations.

Camp Bow Wow is North America’s top dog daycare and kennel operator with almost 200 camps across the country, Michael Day, co-owner of the Reno branch, said in an email to the NNBW.

The branch at 7111 S. Virginia St. marks the first Northern Nevada location for the franchise and fourth in Nevada (the others are in Las Vegas/Henderson).

Camp Bow Wow offers canine day care, overnight stays and grooming in a facility fully equipped with indoor and outdoor play yards and individual cabins, according to an April 2 press release from the Chamber.

Camp Bow Wow counselors are certified in pet first aid, and the facility is outfitted with live web cams that allow pup parents to check in via smartphone or computer.

“For a year, our dogs have served as our faithful companions, not only keeping us company through the lonely days of the pandemic, but as co-workers in our work-from-home offices,” Reno+Sparks Chamber Director of Member Engagement Kristine Brown said in a statement. “It’s sure to be a tough transition as many people make the return to work, and I’m pleased businesses like Camp Bow Wow are here to make it that much easier.”
