People: Reno Rodeo elects three new board members

The Reno Rodeo announced Nov. 17 results of the election for director and executive committee positions.

Spenser Downie will serve on the executive committee, a one-year term. There were four other open positions for six-year terms on the board of directors. Incumbent Zach Downie was re-elected, while Shannon Bohach, Andi Morency and Colleen Schaar will serve as new members, according to a Nov. 17 press release.


Spenser Downie

 

Spenser Downie has been involved with the Reno Rodeo Association since childhood and has served on several committees. Outside of the rodeo, he works at McQueen High School as the head varsity baseball coach.

Zach Downie grew up in the Reno Rodeo Association and is involved with numerous committees, including serving as Arena Chair and Extreme Bulls Chair, in addition to the BFI committee.


Shannon Bohach

 

Bohach has been a member of the Reno Rodeo Association since 1987 and is deeply involved with the Flag Team, currently serving as chair. Bohach is a senior buyer/planner for IGT in Reno.

Andi Morency

 

Morency has served on several committees throughout her time with the Reno Rodeo. Outside of the Rodeo, Morency works as the executive director/principal of the Honors Academy of Literature.

Colleen Schaar

 

Schaar just celebrated 20 years of membership with the Reno Rodeo Association and in that time has worked on various committees and most recently as the Tickets chair. Schaar works as a senior accounting manager at IGT.
