EDAWN’s first large-scale event in 20 months set for Sept. 23

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada is set to host its first large-scale event in exactly 20 months on Sept. 23.

EDAWN's “Mid-Year Update & Arts/Business Collaboration Luncheon" is will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. inside the Silver Legacy Resort Casino’s 19,360-square-foot Grande Exposition Hall in Downtown Reno.

The event will include an economic update from EDAWN CEO Mike Kazmierski and a keynote address from Tony Manfredi, executive director of the Nevada Arts Council, who will “highlight the important role a thriving arts and culture community plays” in economic development efforts across Northern Nevada, according to a media advisory.

Nevada Arts Council is serving as title sponsor for the event. Tickets cost $40 per person or $320 for a table of eight. According to EDAWN, tickets are limited and will not be sold at the door.

The last large-scale, in-person event EDAWN held was its annual 
“State of the Economy” luncheon on Jan. 23, 2020, at the Peppermill Reno.

Since, other planned events for EDAWN — and for nearly every other business, organization and nonprofit — were postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
