Eren Ozmen, chairwomen and owner of Sierra Nevada Corporation has been named among America’s Top 10 Most Successful Self-Made Women by Forbes.

Ozmen has been featured on the coveted list since its inception, this year among the Top 10 tied with Oprah Winfrey.

The Most Successful Self-Made Women ranking follows Ozmen’s inclusion on the inaugural Forbes “50 Over 50” list alongside iconic women including vice president Kamala Harris, Madeleine Albright, Arianna Huffington, and Cathie Wood. Ozmen is also included in Forbes’ “Most Successful Couples” list with her husband Fatih Ozmen.

In June 2021, Ozmen launched Sierra Space, a commercial space company from the space capabilities within SNC including the Dream Chaser spaceplane and three-story expandable Life habitat. Sierra Space announced a record $1.4 billion capital raise valuing the company at $4.5 billion, which in part catapulted Ozmen to the Top 10 list.

Ozmen’s vision for making a positive impact extends beyond the walls of her companies. Earlier this year, SNC launched a Women in STEM scholarship to support the next generation of women as they chase their dreams.

Through the Ozmen Foundation, she supports a variety of causes including STEM initiatives and cancer-related medical research. She also founded the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship and the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies at her alma mater, the University of Nevada, Reno. Ozmen also received an honorary doctorate from UNR in 2016.
