A Carson City man is accused of attempted murder after he allegedly put a partially loaded revolver to a woman's head Wednesday night and pulled the trigger, then took her car.
Tovares Ramon Northington, 24, was held on $75,000 bail after being arrested in the 1500 block of North Edmonds Drive Thursday night, about a day after the alleged incident.
The woman told a deputy that Northington wanted her to register her car so he could drive it out of state. She said he hit her in the back of the head about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, then pulled out a .38-caliber revolver, put one bullet in it, spun the cylinder, put the gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
When the gun did not fire, she said, Northington loaded the weapon and put it back to her head. She said she then gave him the keys to her car out of fear for her life. The woman said she eventually was able to get away from Northington on Thursday and called the sheriff's department.
Deputies found that Northington had an outstanding warrant and that he had never registered with the sheriff's office as a convicted felon.
An attempt to locate request was broadcast and Northington was arrested at his Edmonds Drive home for investigation of felony attempted murder, felony robbery, misdemeanor domestic violence and misdemeanor failure to register as a felon, as well as on a failure to pay fine warrant.
