Granite Construction Inc.
and Q&D Construction have been awarded a $34.9 million contract by the Regional Transportation Commission for the construction of a new interchange at Clear Acre Lane/McCarran Boulevard and US 395 in Reno.
It is the largest project the RTC has ever awarded.
Project details include building two new bridges and on/off ramps, which will require careful staging to accommodate the heavy traffic flow that runs through the area.
Work will include substantial excavation, drainage system work, paving, striping and all associated roadway electrical and signage.
Work will begin in early January 2004 with completion scheduled for June 2006.
