Incline at Tahoe announced that it has officially rebranded its 20-year-old business to “Sun Bear Realty and Property Management”.

RNO

Southwest Airlines announced a new seasonal air service flying non-stop once a week from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) to Dallas Love Field (DAL) from Jan. 7 to March 4, 2017. The new flight will depart Dallas Love Field at 11 a.m. and land in Reno at 12:30 in the afternoon. It will depart Reno at 11 a.m. and land in Dallas at 4:05 p.m.

The Love Feld service is the 11th new flight announcement by Reno-Tahoe International in the past 14 months.

DERMODY PROPERTIES

Dermody Properties recently broke ground on a 546,000-square-foot industrial facility in Shepherdsville, Ky. Known as LogistiCenter at 480, this new bulk warehouse and distribution center will feature e-commerce-compliant design, including 36 feet of clear height, 49 dock doors, expandable to 99 dock doors, 63 trailer stalls and 320 car parking stalls. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2016.

SAINT MARY’S

Saint Mary’s Medical Group has officially announced a new, full-service pharmacy at the Robb Drive Medical Campus, located at 6255 Sharlands Avenue. The pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saint Mary’s has also expanded their imaging services to offer mammography services at the Robb Drive Medical Campus location.

NNDA

On June 22nd, 2016 the Northern Nevada Development Authority and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada announced the formation of the Western Manufacturing Alliance (WMA), an alliance of manufacturers, for manufacturers, and led by manufacturers to support next generation manufacturing. On July 7, the second set of round tables was held at the NNDA office in Carson City to continue discussions aimed at identifying key issues facing all manufacturers in the state.

ROTARY CLUB

The Rotary Club of Reno (Downtown) celebrates its 100th birthday Monday, Aug. 1 with a special dinner event at the Atlantis Casino & Resort. RENO FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Reno Fire Department recognized the successful completion of its 12-week Recruit Academy by 16 recruits who will transition into probationary firefighters. This is the second graduating class of 2016. The Reno Fire Department received about 750 firefighter applications for this recruitment period. 31 new firefighters have joined the Reno Fire Department this year after graduating from the recruit academy. They are the first new hires for the department in nearly eight years.

NUI

In early 2016, Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. opened its doors in northern Nevada, not only to the Native American community, but to the general public as well. NUI is a non-profit organization that provides healthcare and community services. These include primary care, immunizations, a victim services program (domestic violence), substance abuse and mental health counseling, family support social services, and an educational program.

NDOT

The Nevada Department of Transportation began heavy construction to improve and extend the Parkway to connect Interstate 80 and U.S. 50. The $75.9 million project by design-build contractor Ames Construction is expected to complete in late 2017, opening the new USA Parkway extension to traffic. Small businesses, those firms with fewer than 100 employees, added 19,000 jobs in the fourth quarter of 2015, totaling 596,000 in employment. This represents the second consecutive quarter in which small business employment stands at a record-high. During the final three months of 2014, small business employment registered at 577,000. Prior to the recession, small business employment peaked at just over 585,000 in the fourth quarter of 2007. As the downturn unfolded, jobs fell to 510,000. NEVADA HOUSING DIVISION

SONOCINE

SonoCiné, based in Reno, released 3D multiplanar reconstruction software to improve breast cancer detection. This new software package augments the high-resolution transverse imaging SonoCiné is known for. Once an area of suspicion has been identified using SonoCiné AWBUS, users of the new 3D software will be able to apply whole breast multiplanar reconstruction to further investigate the region. The 3D view shows the area being interrogated from all three planes — coronal, transverse and sagittal.
